some questions as i'm new
Hiya,
Iv'e just bought Prophecies and i'm enjoying so far but I have a few questions. I'm currently lvl 5 and was wondering what you all do once you reach lvl 20? Like once iv'e reached the lvl cap what are the other main things I need to be doing in the game? Also I think i'm still in pre-post, like the starting area so I gather the main area is alot bigger? Lastly at the bottom of my screen I only seem to have slots for 8 skills. Can this be increased or do I have to pick which ones I want in the 8 slots each time? Thanks |

When you reach lvl20, you should concentrate on getting the best gear and skills, complete the game and try new builds. You can also start with PvP or make a new character. Pre searing is much smaller than the main area, with many more cities. You can not increase the skill slots, they are 8 for everyone through the whole game. Hope this helps

I would get about 2 more levels in presearing and the head to post....Lvl 20 is when the game really begins... There are numerous things to do from finishing the "storyline" to getting the right look for your character with armor/weapons ...to chasing titles...
check out www.guildwiki.org it has some great info |

The game is balanced around level 20. It's pretty much a long tutorial until you reach it.

Hi, and welcome to the wonderful game of Guild Wars.
Yes, the game world of Prophesies, post-searing, is quite large. The game is also fairly long in the PvE campaign, at least your 1st time through. Most people leave pre-searing around lvl 7-9; depending on how you play, you can hit lvl 20 as early as around half-way, though usually it comes rather later with your 1st character. Yes, you are limited to just 8 skills but as you progress you will be able to buy more powerful skills from skill trainers. Further on, you'll be able to 'capture' elite skills from boss creatures. And even though you will stop 'leveling' up at 20, you will continue to earn skill points as you continue to gain experience. Skills from trainers cost 1 skill point + x gold, starting at 50g for the 1st one you buy, then each one after that costs slightly more until you reach the max of 1000g; thereafter they'll always cost 1 skill point + 1000g. You'll find that often times you'll want to vary the skills you're using, depending on the area you're in or the creatures you'll be facing. As Zedd said, you will be able to buy slightly better armor at various points in the game until you reach the max armor level; after that, you can buy more expensive armor, the only difference being that it "looks" different - it isn't any better in terms of the armor level. In general, max armor for spellcasters is 60, rangers and assassins is 70, warriors and paragons is 80 (though all warrior armor has +20 vs physical - so, effectively, 100 vs phys, 80 vs elemental). If you ever have any questions, don't hesitate to ask - people here are always more than willing to help out the newcomers. edit: Prophesies has 25 missions, Factions has 13, Nightfall has 20. Thanks for all the replys.
Are missions different to quests in the game? Like when you click the green ! it gives you a quest to do or are these missions as well? Also when you reach the lvl cap on 20 do the quests and missions end or can you go back and do them all if you want? Lastly, is it possible to get all the skills in the game for each character or can you only get/earn so many? Thanks |

Missions are different than quests. They're separate towns that have a shield icon on your big map. Primary quests will lead you to missions (may be a string of primary quests, but they end at a mission). Your party window will have an "enter mission" button at the bottom of it when you are in a mission town. Since you are in only in pre-sear, you have not come across missions yet.
There will still be quests and missions after level 20. As stated before, you normally reach level 20 about halfway through. Even once you "beat" the game (all missions) there are still some quests to do. Any that you don't do along the way will still be available to you. You can also do Hard Mode - where everything is made for level 20 (even the very beginning of post-sear). You can go skill crazy! There's even a title for capturing elite skills. You will have to earn skills points and money to afford them, but it's completely possible. |

Missions are different. Quests happen in a local zone anyone can access at any time. Missions are in a seperate area, specially designed for that mission, having more triggers, more storyline, cutscenes, and mission requirements.

Are the other 2 games as big as in continent size? Likw will it take me just as long to expolore all of Factions and Nightfall? Also say I lvl my character in Prophecies to lvl 20, can I then use it in the other 2 games? If so why do you need to?

Factions is slightly shorter.
Nightfall is about the same size I think(not finished yet ) but more level 20 content. Yes, you can finish prophecies with your character, then move on to any 2 of the others. This is beneficial because you can get more titles, skills, farming spots etc. |

Unlike WoW, GW isn't about grinding lvl's for your character,- its about playing the game.
Trust me: there's a lot of difference between the skill of a new guy with his first lvl 20 character and a guy who's finished all 3 games with a handful, played PvP, done Hard Mode stuff, etc. GW caps the amount of raw power your character gets,- but not to the level of skill you can achieve playing that character! Furthermore the game is different with different characters,- make a few. I would recomment making both a fighter class: warrior, assasin(F) or dervish(NF) caster class: elementalist, mesmer, monk, necromancer or ritualist(F) range striker: ranger or paragon(NF) (NF: Night Fall - F: Factions) - find out how you like to play! Hope you'll enjoy GW as much as i have! |

People gave you advices alredy.I say try next things out after u get ur build:
Tombs Of Primeval Kings , Domain Of Anguish (NF) , Underworld , Fissure Of Woe , The Deep (Factions - Luxons) , Urgozs Warren (Factions - Kurzicks) You get to Fow and UW by reaching Temple of Ages in propercies campagin, thats place where u kneel when ur continent has god's favour and for price of 1 platinum ur party can go to those 2 areas 1.Underworld is classic for gold making today, but price of ecto has fallen and its kinda ruined but people still play it i give it 3 stars *** 2.FoW ** 3.Domain Of Anguish - bad sides: long and boring ** 4.Tomb Of Primeval Kings - u need ranger for this or necro or monk ** 5.The Deep - very interesting elite mission with very unique drops - bad sides: u need at least 2-3 hours to finish it with 12 person party well organised ,i give it 5 stars ***** 6.Urgoz Warren - very very very long, but most interesting entertaintment, and harder than The Deep in my oppinion but still ,it can take 2 -6 hours and u never know if ur party will be able to kill Urgoz after reaching him. Thats pretty bad but i give it 4 stars **** |
